Coin

LEAD DESIGNER • ALL THE THINGS

we designed a product that stores all your cards in one simple device, Coin.

with Coin, your card is now your wallet.

here’s the thing…

credit cards have been around for quite a while & for the most part hasn’t changed all that much.

the average consumer has multiple credit cards, debit cards, & membership ids in their wallet.

so…very quickly a wallet can easily become bulky & most importantly a liability if lost.

coin stores all your card info so you don’t have to carry a wallet.

cards are loaded via the mobile app to coin & that’s it.

manage it all from an app

your cards can be managed anytime & anywhere with the mobile app. cards are added by swiping through a card reader & bluetooth takes care of the rest to sync them.

As the sole designer,

i worked closely with the hardware team & affiliate vendors to develop the form factor for coin including the display, button, & overall physical attributes of the product.

i designed the mobile app experience as well as the web flows to support the order details from our crowd sourced campaign.

we were lean, so anything else that needed design support, i helped with- social marketing banners, brand + logo, the little insert you get when you buy hardware…i was there for that too.

what a ride.

from being one of the largest crowd-sourced events until the day of launch, coin’s been nothing but an adventure.

since then, coin has been acquired by Fitbit. The tap to pay technology is now embedded in most Fitbit wearables today.

and most recently, fitbit was acquired by google.
